The ONDA turtle has been released back into the sea
On May 15 2021, thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Association Marevivo Onlus, the turtle ONDA has returned back home.
On occasion of the Sicilian Region day, we had the honor to participate, along with the association Mareamico and Urb En Pact, in a day devoted to the cleaning the beach of Punta Bianca, along the coast of Agrigento and Palma di Montechiaro.
Volunteers collected 40 bags of trash, as well as numerous bulky items weighing over a ton.
The Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Sicily has also attended the event. Its veterinarians freed ONDA, a Caretta caretta sea turtle rescued in the sea after having swallowed a fishing line and rehabilitated at the center of Palermo.
We support other initiatives that are part of the “Adopt a beach” campaign. Moreover, we support different activities of protection and cleaning, because of our particular sensitivity and social responsibility in the defense of the sea and its inhabitants.
